Kuder Adopt-a-School Campaign Underway

Based upon the successful pilot of the Kuder Career Planning System in fifteen Sonoma County schools last year, SCOE is launching an “Adopt-a-School Campaign” to expand access to the online career and academic planning tool to all interested middle schools, high schools, and youth-serving organizations in Sonoma County.

For a financial commitment of just $1 per student, you can help bring the interactive Web-based Kuder Career Planning System (www.kuder.com) to middle and high school students in Sonoma County. Based on the number of young people served at each site, sponsorships range from $100 to $2,060.

Kuder uses today’s technology to create a powerful connection between education and the changing needs of the 21st century workforce. Last year, the program was field-tested locally at 15 school sites and both teachers and students gave it enthusiastic reviews. So, what would you be giving a student for your $1 investment?

•Access to assessments on career interests, skills, and work values
•The opportunity to explore the largest occupation database available
•Detailed information on over 7,000 technical schools, colleges, and universities
•The ability to do side-by-side comparisons of careers and colleges
•A multi-year planning component to track progress toward education and career goals
•Information on over 10,000 scholarships and financial aid programs
•A built-in résumé tool

We hope you’ll join us in improving the career-readiness of our future workforce by sponsoring the Kuder system at a local school or organization. With a small investment, you can make a significant impact on the lives of students and contribute to our county’s economic vitality.
